13 Cape Town public pools to dive into this summer

The City’s public swimming pools and spray parks are open and ready for the summer season. Beat the Cape Town heat by visiting a swimming pool closest to you and make the most of the summer season.

Here is a list of public pools to visit in Cape Town:

Muizenburg Swimming Pool:

Muizenberg Swimming Pool includes a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and waterslides.

• Location: 1 Beach Road, Muizenburg
• Entrance fee: Adults – R8 / Children – R2 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday – Thursday – closed / Friday – 1pm to 5pm / Weekends and public holidays – 10am to 5pm

Sea Point Swimming Pool:

The popular Sea Point Swimming Pool consists of an Olympic-sized pool, a springboard diving pool and two splash pools for children.

• Location: Sea Point Pavilion, Lower Beach Road, Sea Point
• Entrance fee: Adults – R33 / Children –  R19 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday – 10am –  7pm / Tuesday –  Sunday and Public Holidays – 7am to 7pm

Long Street Indoor Swimming Pool:

The Long Street swimming facilities include a main indoor pool, kiddies’ pool, hot baths and Turkish baths.

• Location: Long Street, Cape Town
• Entrance fee: Adults – R33 / Children – R19 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday –  Sunday and Public Holidays – 7am to 7pm

Athlone Swimming Pool:

Athlone Swimming Pool includes a main pool and a kiddies’ pool.

• Location: Hickory Street, Athlone
• Entrance fee: Adults – R8 / Children – R2 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday and Public Holidays – 10am to 5pm

Wynberg Swimming Pool:

The Wynberg Swimming Pool includes a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and a playground.

• Location: Rosmead Avenue, Wynberg
• Entrance fee: Adults – R9 / Children – R3 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday – 10am to  5pm

Westridge Swimming Pool:

The Westridge Swimming Pool includes a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and a tennis court.

• Location: Silversands Way, Westridge
• Entrance fee: Adults – R8 / Children – R2 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Thursday – closed / Friday – 1pm to 5pm / Weekends and public holidays – 10am to 5pm

Belville South Swimming Pool:

Bellville South Swimming Pool includes a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and a baby pool.

• Location: Industrie Street, Bellville South
• Entrance fee: Adults – R8 / Children – R2 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday – 10am to 5pm

Mnandi Swimming Pool:

The Mnandi Swimming Pool provides a splash pool, slides and a picnic area.

• Location: Weltevreden Road, Mitchells Plain
• Entrance fee: Adults – R32 / Children – R18 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Friday to Sunday and public holidays – 10am to 4pm

Belville Central Swimming Pool:

Bellville Swimming Pool provides a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and a splash pool, the facility also has a volleyball court and trampolines.

• Location: 12 A/B Voortrekker Road, Bellville
• Entrance fee: Adults – R32 / Children – R18 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday and Public Holidays – 10am to 5pm

Khayelitsha Swimming Pool:

Khayelitsha Swimming Pool includes a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and a playground.

• Location: Walter Sisulu Drive, Khayelitsha
• Entrance fee: Adults – R8 / Children – R2 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Thursday – closed / Friday – 1pm to 5pm / Weekends and public holidays – 10am to 5pm

Trafalgar Swimming Pool:

The Trafalgar Swimming Pool includes a main pool, a kiddies’ pool and a children’s play area.

• Location: Searle Street, Woodstock
• Entrance fee: Adults – R9 / Children – R3 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday – 10am to 5pm

Strand Indoor Swimming Pool:

Strand Indoor Swimming Pool includes an indoor pool and a kiddies’ pool.

• Location: Beach Road, Strand
• Entrance fee: Adults – R33 / Children – R19 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday – 10am to 5pm

Retreat Swimming Pool:

The Retreat Swimming Pool includes a main pool, splash pool and a playground.

• Location: Cnr 7th Avenue and Concert Boulevard/Joe Marks Boulevard, Retreat
• Entrance fee: Adults – R17 / Children – R4 / Pensioners – Free
• Opening hours: Monday to Sunday – 10am to 5pm
