Max Verstappen lay down a daunting early benchmark for the Japanese
Grand Prix weekend in FP1. The Dutchman set a time of a 1:31.647 to
head Ferrari's Carlos Sainz by 0.626 seconds, with McLaren's Lando
Norris a further tenth down. Charles Leclerc was fourth fastest
ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, who impressed for AlphaTauri to finish ahead
of Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and Oscar Piastri. Alex Albon was
seventh for Williams, Liam Lawson was ninth and Lance Stroll tenth.
