A tinsel-trimmed evening at café Roux’s outdoor Christmas concert

café Roux is excited to announce its Christmas Outside Concert, a festive show that will be held in Cape Town’s Sleepy Hollow, Noordhoek.

This event is a celebration marking the release of “Thank Folk It’s Christmas,” the restaurant’s Sit the Folk Down Christmas compilation album. The album consists of a selection of Christmas and holiday favourites performed by talented local musicians.

What better way to celebrate than to hear those songs and a few other favourites performed live?

There are seated (R120) and grass (R80) tickets available. Just a few details to note:

Doors will open at 4pm. The show begins at 5.30pm and ends at 7pm at the latest.

This is a completely outdoor concert, just like Kirstenbosch’s summer musical events, and the performance will go on even if it rains a little. Please dress accordingly.

Although cooler boxes are not allowed, the entire café Roux menu will be available, so there is no chance of being without delicious food. Guests who purchase grass tickets are asked to bring picnic blankets so that they can enjoy the show and their meal in comfort.

The Misty Cliffs will be holding down the fort as the house band, as well as a few of the performers from the album lending a hand throughout the show.

The Misty Cliffs are a trio of experienced musicians featuring Nick Turner (guitar and vocals), Nick Catto (bass and vocals), and Matt Catto (drums and percussion and vocals). The group has participated in a number of musical projects and played for audiences across the country.

If you’d like to bring a small gift to put under the tree, that would be wonderful! café Roux will be collecting gifts for the less fortunate. There is no obligation, but if you do, please indicate whether you are a “girl” or “boy,” as well as your age group.
