Albon learns fate after second Imola stewards investigation

Alex Albon will face no further action from Emilia Romagna Grand Prix stewards after a second investigation.  During the race, the Thai was handed a 10-second stop/go penalty after the Williams was released from a pit-stop "in an unsafe condition" with the front-right wheel not properly secured.  Albon was forced into a slow lap back to the pits for a fresh set of tyres, as the stewards immediately hit him with the sanction, although a further investigation was deemed necessary to see if Albon was in breach of Article 34.14 e of the Sporting Regulations - driving the car when knowing it is in an unsafe condition. In this second investigation, the stewards accepted Albon's explanation that "while he knew something was wrong with the car, it did not look from his position to be a classic loose wheel." He was shown the green light to exit the pits, with the team also not aware of the loose wheel nut, as Albon "heard a metallic scraping noise" as he slowly returned to the pits. The stewards accepted that Albon did not drive the car "knowing it to be in an unsafe condition" and as such, no further action was taken.  Albon would ultimately retire from the race, with team-mate Logan Sargeant taking 17th of 19 finishers.
