Experience Bach, Grieg, ABBA and Verdi live like never before, performed by one of the most recognisable instrumental groups in South Africa.

The Charl du Plessis Trio, consisting of Du Plessis, Werner Spies and Peter Auret, has released nine albums, won four SAMA awards and regularly performs across Europe and Eastern Asia. Aimed at the curious listener, their style blends classical music with jazz, pop and world music influences.

Charl du Plessis will travel to Hermanus with his own Steinway grand piano for the performance.

He made his international debut in 1999 and was the youngest pianist in Africa to be named a Steinway Artist in 2010. The Steinway Artist title is only conferred upon the best pianist of his or her time, and every Steinway Artist performs exclusively on Steinways.

He was also the first pianist ever to perform on top of Table Mountain in 2017 and was invited to perform at the opening of Steinway Hall in Beijing. He has performed in more than 60 concerts per year over the past two decades.

Since the establishment of his trio in 2006, his recordings have reached the top spot on classical billboard charts, and he has been awarded distinguished awards at national arts festivals.
