Our world as we know it remains, but there are entire universes that are centred around the virtual sphere. Ferrari’s latest Vision Gran Turismo has now taken to the track… but virtually.

Fortunately, Ferrari will be releasing a full-size scale model in Maranello on the 23rd of December which means it won’t be exclusively reserved for the virtual realm but the model will more than likely only be static.

For those that have Gran Turismo 7, that date will also be the release date for the model on the racing sim which means players across the gaming platform will be able to enjoy the superlative but virtual performance on the track.

Ferrari mentions the model can hit 100 km/h in under two seconds, 200 km/h in less than five and top out at 350 km/h which makes it sound a lot like a Ferrari incarnated Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo. With all of these statistics, Ferrari claims the VGT model can manage the Fiorano test track in less than 1:10 which is blisteringly fast for a vehicle of its kind.

Without emissions regulations strangling motors, vision GT models offer automakers the opportunity to flex their prowess. The latest VGT model from Ferrari thus employs a twin-turbo 3,0-litre engine which lives in the 296 GTB and GTS models. More notably, the engine has been adopted by the GT3 and 499P racing cars which has it uprated to significantly more power. In the VGT model, however, numbers are rated at a whopping 758 kW and 900 N.m while oral satisfaction can be had at the maximum power output of 9 000 r/min.

Connecting this to the wheels is a Formula 1 dual-clutch eight-speed gearbox while hybrid power makes the VGT model from Ferrari even more ludicrous. Three electric motors accompany the model, one on each front wheel and the third mated to the motor. This gives the virtual Prancing Horse another 240 KW and a total of 1 100 N.m. Highly impressive statistics for a machine that weighs only 1 250 kg.
