His story is now being told through a short film, handpicked for its international premiere at the renowned Mountainfilm Festival held annually in Telluride, Colorado.

In the short film titled And Yet, I Remain, directed by Rick Wall and Dougal Paterson, Caleb’s journey of resiliency and determination unfolds. The documentary serves as a chronicle of Caleb’s inspiring comeback to the ocean after the shark attack, where he embarked on a personal mission to excel in freediving.
It sheds light on the pivotal turning point in Caleb’s life when he faced the life-altering incident at the age of 20. Despite the numerous challenges he encountered, Caleb exhibited remarkable resilience, adapting to crutches within an astonishingly short span of three days and enduring a brief ten-day hospital stay.
Since then, Caleb’s unwavering determination has propelled him to extraordinary heights. He has triumphed as the South African Para-Surfing Champion on four occasions, claimed the Western Province Para-Surfing Championship twice and emerged victorious in the National Para-Swimming Championship. Notably, he has also secured a top-three position in the fiercely competitive South Africa Adaptive Crossfit Open.
