Cape Town – Social media erupted when users responded to Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo bending the marriage laws in Saudi Arabia by being able to live with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez.
According to the Daily Mail, couples are prohibited from living together in Saudi Arabia if they are unmarried.
Rodriguez has joined her partner, Ronaldo in moving to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the two children she had with Ronaldo as well as his other three children.
Ronaldo signed for Al Nassr, after representing his country at the 2023 FIFA World Cup, in a deal believed to be worth more than 200 million euros.
Al-Monitor reported that authorities in Saudi will be allowing Ronaldo and Rodriguez to live together despite the couple not being married.
