Introducing Clifton 1st: Chommies’ first beaded collection

The fun-in-the-sun collection is aptly named Clifton 1st, after Clifton’s iconic dog-friendly beach. The trio of patterned colourways have fun, playful names reminiscent of sunny Atlantic Seaboard days and the feel-good essence of the Cape Town lifestyle.

The collection consists of Now Now, Jolly Lolly and Skinny Dip:

Now Now

The Now Now collars and leashes were named after the laid-back vacation culture of loose plans, where things happen according to a relaxed timeline.

Jolly Lolly

Lolly Jolly collars and leashes are inspired by the beach vendors selling granadilla ice cream, who always make us smile.

Skinny Dip

Because nothing beats cheeky dips in the ocean while wearing very little or nothing at all.

Delicately beaded but not delicate, Clifton 1st is meant for dogs that roll around in the sand and catch waves as much as those that enjoy the vibey walking and café culture of big cities.

The luxury beaded collars take more than a day to make, and leashes take up to two days to make. Each piece from the collection is entirely made by hand, from the intricate beading done by Master Beaders of the 1000 Hills in KwaZulu-Natal down to the finishing touches completed by local artisans at Chommies’ Cape Town studio.
