Cape Town — Kaya959 radio host Dineo Ranaka is reportedly said to be recovering at home after she checked herself out of a mental wellness clinic in Pretoria on Friday.

According to Sunday World, Dineo was discharged from the hospital just three days after checking herself in.

This was reportedly after a confrontation she had with a health worker at the hospital.

Dineo had initially checked herself into the mental wellness clinic after she revealed that she was feeling unwell and struggling with her mental health.

An anonymous source from the hospital revealed that the exchange happened when a healthcare worker was on the phone but Ranaka thought he was taking a video of her, the report said.

“Someone was on the phone so Dineo thought that person was taking a picture and she confronted him. Then the boy said to Dineo shut up and then they had a confrontation which ended up in him saying she must not take out her frustrations on him,” the report quoted the source as saying.

Another source added that Dineo then went on to discharge herself from the institution even after being advised against doing so.

Current 947 breakfast show host Anele Mdoda took to Twitter to show support for Dineo, saying people should show some grace towards her after she admitted she’s not okay.
