Magical children’s book comes to life at the Homecoming Centre

If you’re looking for a family-friendly activity in Cape Town that pays tribute to the legacy of Nelson Mandela, consider checking out the Ticket to The Moon Youth Theatre Company’s production of Mr. Hare Meets Mr. Mandela at The Homecoming Centre.

Based on the final story of South African author Chris van Wyk, this heartwarming stage adaptation tells the story of Mr. Hare’s brave and persistent journey to return a lost R200 note to its rightful owner, Mr. Mandela.

Through the lens of this adventure, the show highlights the importance of literacy, a cause that was close to Mandela’s heart.

Directed by Daniel Geddes and featuring a talented cast of four actors performing in English, this original production promises to be a fun-filled experience for the whole family.

With a brand-new script, joyful music, and an array of memorable characters, audiences will be transported on an exciting journey that will warm their hearts and leave them with a lasting message.

The Homecoming Centre (HCC) is an extension of the District Six Museum and serves as a space for connecting and educating communities while keeping memories alive.
