Cape Town – More victims of a man masquerading as a business consultant, Luan Schultz, have reportedly come forwards following recent reports exposing his cunning ways.

According to IOL the self-proclaimed successful businessman allegedly swindled restaurants and suppliers in Cape Town out of millions of rands.

The report said Schultz pretended to be a business consultant and allegedly accumulated massive unpaid bills with suppliers and re-routed payment to his personal accounts.

Owners of Boujee and Ivy on Park restaurants allegedly partnered with Schultz who they claimed racked up accommodation bills of up to R80 000 while orders that never arrived at the restaurants cost them almost R5 million, the report said.

The owner of Boujee, Ladipo Akindele, alleged that in four months, Schultz was their project manager and defrauded his business R1.5 million and changed their point of sale system adding his bank details as the sole recipient for every sale that went through before he caught on.

One of the owners of Ivy on Park, Preehen Naidu alleged he now had to pay an extra 15% on their monthly supply bill to pay off their repayment plan for the bills Schultz allegedly racked up.

Weekend Argus reported that since the first publication into the matter, more business owners from other parts of the country had come forward.

Owner of the prestigious Mountain Manor Guest House in Oranjezicht, Michelle Whitehead who fell victim to Schultz’s “smoothness” claimed that Schultz “dined and dashed”, leaving her with an unpaid bill of R7 000.

The report said Whitehead didn’t open a case but “wrote it off” as “bad debt”.
