There are always topics up for debate in the world of dog ownership. Whether or not to let your dog kiss you on the mouth! If feeding your dog table scraps is ever OK! Letting your dog go off-leash to always keeping them leashedI If it's ever OK to name your dog after a still living relative who vaguely resembles said dog (We're looking at you, Uncle Harvey!) -- you get our point. Dog owners have strong opinions about the care and ownership of our beloved canine companions, and one of the biggest controversies that split dog owners is the dreaded question every dog owner is familiar with.

Do you let your dog sleep in bed with you? That was the question TikTok account holder @Houndedofficial asked people on the street and the interviewees responses have people divided.

First of all, there's no reason for your dog not to sleep with you unless they are a tiny puppy at risk of you rolling over on them, or you ending up with dog pee on your pillow. According to The Mayo Clinic, sharing a bed with your dog won't disrupt your sleep. Unless your dog is a total snore monster than that's another factor. As long as your dog is clean and free of sickness there's no scientific reason not to share your bed with them. So it all comes down to your own personal preference.

"Dogs are here for such a short time. I want as much time with my baby as possible," comments @User27293837287333. " @Shantal adds, "I also do morning snuggles but not overnight." @Trisha replies, "Not a chance. My dog sheds too much. Plus, can’t cope with two people snoring!" @Kimberely-ann hilariously replies, "I've had worse men in my bed. So of course my dog is allowed on my bed, he sleeps under the duvet. I love him."

So there you have it. Some dog owners are all for the overnight cuddle party, some prefer their dog in their own furry dog bed. We think no matter what you decide is fine, as long as your cat allows the dog to get into bed with you!
