Armed Robbers Storm Jewellery Store In Menlyn Mall Pretoria

Menlyn Mall in Pretoria saw dramatic scenes as heavily armed men stormed a jewellery store, firing shots in the process in a deranged robbery.

The Citizen reports that four men smashed the window of the Vault store at around 18:00 on Monday and managed to make off with jewellery in two cars, one of them a white BMW.

They fired shots at the direction of security guards who pursued them as they made their escape, before speeding off.

“The suspects took an unconfirmed number of Rolex watches,” Police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach is quoted by the publication.

“Security officers tried to stop the suspects as they tried to flee the mall in two white vehicles, one of which was a BMW.

“The suspects then fired shots at the security before speeding off in an unknown direction.”

No one was injured in the shooting and the site was cleared before it was business as usual on Tuesday.

Brooklyn police are currently investigating a case of business robbery and no arrests have yet been made.

The perps were caught on video attempting to break into the store after bystanders were forced to lie on the floor. Shots can be heard afterwards, causing panic among the shoppers.
