Rihanna Cover Star Of British Vogue Prestigious September Issue
Pop star Rihanna is the cover star of British Vogue's prestigious September issue.
The Barbadian singer, 30, was photographed by acclaimed fashion photographer Nick Knight and styled by editor-in-chief Edward Enninful.
She sports pencil-thin eyebrows and a floral headpiece for the colourful cover, titled "The Big Fashion Issue".
It marks Enninful's first September issue - widely regarded as the most important edition of the year - since he was named Alexandra Shulman's replacement last year.
The December 2017 issue featuring model Adwoa Aboah on the cover was his first in the role.
Rihanna is the first black woman to front the September fashion issue in the magazine's history.
"I always knew it had to be Rihanna," Enninful writes in the editor's letter.
"A fearless music-industry icon and businesswoman, when it comes to that potent mix of fashion and celebrity, nobody does it quite like her.
"Rihanna, who is widely recognised as a pop icon of today's music, tweeted that she was "so honoured" to be on Enninful's first September cover.
"I finally got to work with Nick Knight for the first time! Legend. @edward_enninful get yours on Aug. 3!" she wrote.
Rihanna, who is an actress and businesswoman as well as a singer, wears bright orange gloves, a fuchsia pink mesh collar and a floral headdress on the cover.
Her make-up look consists of oxblood glossy lips, fake eyelashes and 90s-style thin brows.
The edition also includes interviews with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Sir Elton John.
Before taking over as editor of British Vogue, fashion stylist Enninful had been a contributing editor to Italian Vogue since 1998 and contributing fashion editor for American Vogue.
Conde Nast chief executive Jonathan Newhouse described Enninful as "an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist" when he announced him as editor-in-chief.
