The North American market will have one final chance to own a pure-ICE-powered Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio model after an announcement that order books for the Giulia and Stelvio were closing in April. Before shifting to EVs in the future, will the Italian models forever be classified as underrated?  The post Pure-ICE Alfa Quadrifoglio Models to be Culled in North America appeared first on CAR Magazine.

Pure-ICE Alfa Quadrifoglio Models to be Culled in North America

Prior to going all-electric later on in the decade, Alfa Romeo may impart some sort of electrification in conjunction with the impressive 2.9-litre V6 motor that calls the engine bay of the firm’s Quadrifoglio models home. For now, all that is confirmed is that the potent, clover-badged models will cease to be sold in the US from June.

This may be the last chance for North American buyers to own Alfa Romeo’s piece of modern automotive perfection with pure ICE motivation. This comes after a Tweet by Stelllantis North America announcing the Stelvio and Giulia models will have their order books closing by April 2024.

Dominique also made an announcement on LinkedIn confirming the news of the order fulfilment date and production for the North American market ceasing in June.

“Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Performance Models Bid Farwell to North America, For Now. It’s time to get to your local Alfa Romeo dealer! 2024 represents the final opportunity to order a Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio with a 505-horsepower bi-turbo V-6! This is the final chance to own a Quadrifoglio with only combustion engine technology as we continue our metamorphosis to an electrified future, but this is not the end of the story. I look forward to presenting the next chapter in the four-leaf clover’s journey.

The opportunity to order a 2024 Giulia Quadrifoglio or Stelvio Quadrifoglio will close to North America at the end of April 2024. The last internal-only combustion-powered Quadrifoglio models for US and Canada will exit the Cassino plant in June 2024.” – Larry Dominique.

Interestingly, Dominique includes the detail that the North American market will have a final opportunity to own ICE-only Quadrifoglio models from Alfa which opens up the discussion to speculation as to what is on the horizon. Both models are still a few years away from their electric successors which means that while there is the possibility that they will be outright cancelled with the 2.9-litre motor, there is equally enough speculation that the models may impart some form of electrification for performance gains to them for the last few years of production.

This is all hearsay but buyers in international markets haven’t been notified that the Quadrifoglio lineup will be culled, including South Africa. Additionally, the four-cylinder powered sedan and SUV will continue being sold.
