Sergio Perez has been locked in talks with Red Bull over his future.

'Red Bull's decision over Verstappen's 2025 team-mate could be imminent'
The big question surrounding Red Bull has been the identity of Max Verstappen's team-mate in 2025, with the future of Sergio Perez in doubt. His contract expires at the end of the season, with the likes of Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo all fancying their chances of partnering Verstappen in 2025.  As negotiations continue, Perez's early season form has dropped over the past couple of races with eighth at Imola and a heavy crash on the first lap in Monaco after starting 16th.  However, it does now appear that Perez is set to stay with Red Bull for a fifth season in 2025, with reports in the media claiming that the six-time grand prix winner is on the cusp of signing fresh terms with the team.  A decision could come as soon as the Canadian Grand Prix, but comments from Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko indicate a further delay, although he is sure that Perez remains the first option. "The talks are ongoing and Checo [Sergio Perez] is still our first option," the 81-year-old told Kleine Zeitung, as RacingNews365 previously wrote. "We want to clarify that before the summer break, even though we put absolutely no pressure on ourselves otherwise."
