Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz showed off his impressive golfing
skills when taking part in the Ryder Cup All-Star Match in Rome.
The biennial golf event which sees 12 of Europe's best players take
on a team from the United States began with a a celebrity face-off
between two teams led by former Ryder Cup captains Colin
Montgomerie and Corey Pavin. Sainz, who plays off a handicap of
nine, was selected in the first group to play alongside disabled
tour pro Tommaso Perrino against fellow pro Kip Popert and Tennis
legend Novak Djokovic. Despite some impressive skills being
displayed by the Spaniard, he was unable to prevent a 3-1 loss to
Popert and Djokovic at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, with
his Team Pavin squad also losing out overall. But Sainz was given a
fine welcome by the crowd in Italy - his first public appearance in
Ferrari's home country since his Singapore Grand Prix victory. He
will return to the track next weekend when F1 travels to Lusail for
the Qatar Grand Prix. Happy to take part in @rydercup today! GO
