Senior Dog Who Was Just Surrendered to Shelter Is Absolutely Heartbreaking

What is wrong with people?

We will never, ever understand how someone can bring home a dog and then days, or maybe years later, decide they don't want the fur baby anymore. It breaks our hearts to hear about it. And you'd be surprised how often it does happen.

TikTok user @adoptingdogs, who is based in Wooster, Ohio, shared a video about a dog who was recently surrendered. We don't know the reason behind it. All we know is this senior dog is sad and confused and our hearts are being ripped apart.

Ugh, we can't stop crying. Poor Abby looks like the sweetest girl. How could anyone ever give her up? "That's the saddest thing I've ever seen," commented @josh.oconnor89. Right? We don't know if we'll ever recover from watching this.

"I just don't understand. I can't imagine surrendering a pet that old," said @shawnaoffman8. We can't either. All pets should spend their last days and years in a loving home. @jaywillsano added, "I always find these sadder than the young dogs surrendered. They may have only known one family their whole life and one day end up in a shelter at their most vulnerable time." Ugh, this comment just started the tears again.

The creator wrote in the comments that Abby is not yet up for adoption. The Wayne County Dog Shelter will make her available on its website. Let's bring home sweet Abby!
