Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is celebrating the new year with some of South Africa’s best musical talent. Dance into 2023 with Mi Casa and Swing City in front of one of Cape Town’s most breathtaking backdrops.

Tweede Nuwe Jaar, also called the Cape Town Minstrel Carnival or Kaapse Klopse, is back after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

The festival will be held from 2-3 January 2023, and involves around 13 000 minstrels assembling to parade through the city while playing music, celebrating a rich and important history of our city.
