Verstappen delivers ‘masterclass’ to complete two wins in one day
Max Verstappen delivered what Red Bull boss Christian Horner called a "masterclass" to win both the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and virtual Nurburgring 24 Hours on the same day.  After claiming pole position on Saturday, Verstappen settled in for stints at the wheel of his Team Redline entry in the virtual race, and returned to Imola on Sunday, to win his 59th grand prix and fifth from the first seven races of the season.  He just held off Lando Norris to secure the victory following a late charge, to complete the unusual double, which earned high praise from his Team Principal. "He's had a very busy weekend because he also competed in the Nurburgring 24 Hours in-between being in the car," Horner told media including RacingNews365. "So he's won two races today, one in a BMW M3 and one in a Formula 1 car, and I think Max this weekend, and you heard what it meant to him, has had to dig very deep.  "The performance today was a masterclass." No concerns Horner was then pushed on whether Verstappen's participation in the virtual race with his Team Redline squad had prompted any concerns. It is something he rejected. "No, because he is basically a racing machine," Horner explained when asked about the concerns.  "Quite often, he is testing different set-ups in the evening and that kind of thing, so it is not unusual for him to be doing that."
