Cape Town – Indian billionaire businessman Harpal Randhawa and his 22-year-old son were among six individuals killed in a plane crash in Zimbabwe.

The RioZim flight, en route from Harare to Murowa Diamonds, crashed shortly after take-off, reportedly due to a technical issue on Friday.

The plane was transporting diamonds, and all passengers and crew on board perished in the crash.

There is suspicion that the plane may have exploded mid-air before hitting the ground.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of two Zimbabweans and four foreign nationals.

Harpal Randhawa was the founder of the private equity firm GEM Holdings and had a significant stake in RioZim. The crash occurred approximately six kilometers from Mashava.
